Maytal Kuperard our Communications and Community Animator at JHub
Passionate about people, community and social innovation Maytal endeavours to animate the space at JHub so our residents and members can actively engage in social change in a meaningful way.
Israeli born, London raised, Maytal graduated with a BA Honours in English Literature from the University of Sussex in 2007 where she chaired the Jewish Sociery, and received her MA in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy specialising in Conflict Studies from the Interdisciplinary Centre, Herzeliya, Israel in 2009
Previous to joining team JHub, Maytal spent a year as the Pears-Entwine JSC Fellow serving in China. Whilst representing the JDC in East Asia Maytal developed programmes that helped the Jewish expat communities strengthen their Jewish identity and organised Limmud China 2013, which saw the largest gathering of Jews in East Asia ever.
Maytal co-founded Jewish East London in 2013, primarily a monthly Kabbalat Shabbat pop up, comprising of an inclusive service and potluck dinner hosted in different people’s homes each time. In 2015. she co-chaired Grassroots Jews independent High Holy Day services.
Having spent many years volunteering with vulnerable members of society and developing her lay leadership skills in the Jewish community, at JHub she combines her personal and professional passions and aspirations to making the world a better connected place.
